A Tax Identification Number is issued jointly by the Nigeria Revenue Service and the Joint Revenue Board. It identifies you for filing, remitting and refunds, and banks, employers and government contracts ask for it.
Do I have one already?
Almost certainly, if you are registered. Companies are registered off their CAC registration and individuals off the NIN, so for most people the Tax ID exists and only needs finding.
Where does this answer come from?
The official register at taxid.nrs.gov.ng, run by the Joint Revenue Board and the Nigeria Revenue Service. We ask it the same question the portal does and show you what it says.
Can I find an individual's Tax ID here?
Not without signing in. A company registration is public record; a person's NIN is not, so that lookup lives inside a HopperTax account and works from your own NIN, date of birth and state of origin.
